Recorded at the Shack with Big Gibba's Band
I was driving home
It was late one evening
I was kind of low
With that sinking feeling
That I sometimes have
When it's all going wrong
When a sad old song
That I used to know
Came out and poured over me
From the radio
As if I didn't feel quite bad enough
And I remembered the times
That I used to have
And it seemed so long
Since I felt like that
And I thought out loud
That takes me back
So I drove my car
Without really thinking
To the nearest bar
And I started drinking
Like I sometimes do
When it's all going wrong
And the night went on
And the room was swaying
And I heard that song
On the jukebox playing
As if I didn't feel quite sad enough
And I remembered the times
That I used to have
And it seemed so long
Since I felt like that
And I thought out loud
That takes me back
So I came on home
When my conscience told me
I was on my own
I was feeling lonely
Like I always do
When it's all going wrong
But I just couldn't sleep
Laying in my bed
With that sad old song keep
Going round in my head
As if I didn't feel quite mad enough
Big Jim Gibson and his family are a group of musicians who are
resident at the Shack. Their workload is incredible. The place never seems to close. People travel far and wide to be there and the music and dancing goes on all day and night and into
the early hours. Gibba's extended family take it in shifts to entertain their audience with a huge repertoire of music that defies belief. From country classics to avant garde rock. There
are also many guest artistes who drop by and perform just to be part of this amazing experience.
